S3DA Modified Instructor Training Course Now Available Online

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) currently provides three levels of coach certifications: Basic Instructor, Advanced Instructor and Advanced Instructor Trainer. To become a coach in the S3DA organization, any interested party must attend and complete the Basic Instructor Training Class. Once you have been certified as a Basic Instructor, S3DA would like you to continue your archery training and eventually become an Advanced Instructor. The Advanced Instructor course is usually taken over two days. In the Advanced Instructor course, you must demonstrate mastery of intermediate archery skills, thorough understanding of the S3DA curriculum, ability to communicate well, and ability to teach large groups in a classroom setting. Becoming an Advanced Instructor allows you to teach the Basic Instructor Course. Only Advanced Instructor Trainers are certified to teach the course that allows individuals to become Advanced Instructors.

The S3DA Modified Instructor Training Course was specifically designed to bridge the gap and allow anyone with a USA Archery Level 2 or above certification to become an S3DA Basic Instructor without physically attending a Basic Instructor Training class. This modified course costs $25 and provides coverage on: Chapter 1 (Intro to S3DA), Chapter 3 (Set-up 3-D Range) and Chapter 11 (Pope & Young Clear Path Bowhunting Initiative) of the Basic Instructor Course Manual and is 100% accessible from the comfort of your own home.

If you have USA Archery Level 2 or above certification and would like to become an S3DA coach, click here to purchase the S3DA Modified Instructor Training Course. (Note: You will have 7 days after purchase to complete this course before the link expires.) After you have completed the training modules and associated exams, e-mail your exam answers to S3DA Executive Director Holly Helton (holly@s3da.org) along with your USA Archery background check credentials (a screenshot from your USA Archery Sport:80 login showing valid background check dates will suffice) and a copy of your SafeSport certificate. You will be contacted after your credentials are validated with steps on how to sign-up on the S3DA Sport:80 platform and purchase your S3DA Basic Certification coaching membership.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers. For more information on Scholastic 3-D Archery, visit www.s3da.org.
