With an even longer riser to axle-to-axle ratio than the Mathews VXR, a completely redesigned limb and limb cup, all-new patent-pending Centerguard Cable Containment system and the new Nano 740 damper, the 2021 V3 compound bow from Mathews is offered in a 27-inch version (below) for maximum agility in tight spaces, and a 31-inch version (above) for maximum stability.
Both models have a 6-inch brace height and deliver speeds up to 342 fps. Mathews’ most advanced hunting platform to date, the V3 27 and 31 come with a host of new features.
- Centerguard Cable Containment — The new Centerguard system places the roller guard in the true center of the bow, resulting in improved cam timing to maximize tunability while also adding more vane clearance.
- Extended Bridged Riser — Taking a strategic approach to the riser design led to a platform that cut weight while maximizing length and rigidity in critical areas. The V3 sports the longest riser to axle-to-axle ratio Mathews has ever built.
- New Limbs and Limb Cups — The all-new deflected limbs and past-parallel geometry, paired with a redesigned limb cup, cuts weight while increasing performance and efficiency.
- Nano 740 —The new riser platform and limb geometry also increases cam efficiencies and enhances the effects of 3D damping for less noise and vibration than ever before. The V3 deploys the all-new Nano 740, which is calibrated and tuned to the specific harmonics of these models. This new extended position also provides added balance at full draw.
- SwitchWeight Technology — This allows shooters to change peak draw length and draw weight in 5-pound increments via the cam’s module instead of changing limbs. Available in 60-, 65-, 70- and 75-pound peak weights, each set of mods is programmed for a smooth draw and maximum efficiency. Mods are available in 80 percent or 85 percent let-off for further customization.
- Silent Connect System — Introduced in 2020, the Silent Connect System (SCS) is compatible with the V3. This optional kit enables hunters to attach Mathews’ genuine bow rope and bow sling in the field quickly and silently.
The Mathews V3 comes in two new finish options — First Lite Specter and Under Armour All-Season Forest — and in six other solid and camo models. MSRP: $1,199
In addition to the V3, Mathews is adding two additional hunting bows to its 2021 lineup — the Prima (women’s) and Atlas (long-draw). Weighing only 3.93 pounds, and with a 30-inch axle-to-axle length, the Prima delivers speeds up to 321 fps with a 21.5- to 27.5-inch draw length. It features the new Centerguard Cable containment system for optimal cam timing and all-new Nano 740 to drastically reduce post shot noise and vibration, giving female archers a serious hunting rig. MSRP: $1,099
Built with long-draw archers in mind, the Atlas boasts draw lengths up to 34 inches and features a forgiving 7.75-inch brace height. It’s powered by Crosscentric Cam technology, producing speeds up to 350 fps while the Switchweight modules offer maximum versatility. The Atlas deploys the EHS+ damper to reduce post shot vibration, giving long-draw archers a feel unlike any other long-draw bow to date. MSRP: $1,349. Contact: www.mathewsinc.com
